and so she wore lanvin

While browsing Lanvin today, I came across the most amazing jumpsuit. So clean cut and chic, I almost passed out [not really]. I love the oh so classic combination of navy and black as well as the mixture of fabrics. Regardless, I felt the need to share despite the $3000 price tag.

If you are willing to splurge, the jumpsuit can be found >>>here<<<

please ignore my cheesy katy perry title, as i couldnt come up with something more clever. regardless, it is officially new years eve tonight! i, as im sure many of you as well, am overly excited for this coming new years eve. if i was asked to describe new years in 3 words, they would have to be; sparkle, glam, fireworks.
vampy look with dark lipstick
sparkle ~ fireworks, all the lights on the vegas strip, and of course sparkly dresses and makeup! no better night to pull out your sequin and studded dresses with those killer pumps and top it off with gold and glittery makeup. this is your chance to go what some might call 'over the top'. go out of your comfort zone! try something different, even if its just adding a tiny bit of glitter eyeliner and heels that are a half inch taller than your typical. [be warned: sunglasses may be needed past the hours of 7 due to the amount of sparkle on nye]
hollywood glam look
glam ~ take that extra hour to get ready for that luxurious and crazy party! go for a more vampy look maybe, or a classic hollywood glam look. maybe go for a dark shade of lipstick for a vamped out look, all eyes will be on you..experiment! or if you want to go for a classic hollywood look, try a neutral eye, winged liner, and bright red lips. whatever you do with your makeup, the most important thing is to have fun with it! and to be cheesy, glam it up.
fireworks~ come awn, self explanatory.

i hope you have an amazing new years eve, and dont forget sparkle glam and fireworks!

Success is a job in new york

Andy Warhol Success is a Job in New York is the fourth fragrance in the Bond No. 9 Andy Warhol series, which has proved not only incredibly creative in concepts but also has produced some of the best scents in the Bond No. 9 lineup.

What I get from this scent is vanilla with some amber undertones. I absolutely love this scent. It's girly but sultry and sexy at the same time, a combination generally hard to achieve.
I highly recommend going to your nearest Saks Fifth Avenue Bond No 9 counter and check out this scent, as well as some of their other many many scents. Some of my favorites include Chinatown, Astor Place, and now Andy Warhol Success is a Job in New York.
Although these perfumes come at a hefty price of $160 for a small bottle [50ml] and $230 for a large bottle [100ml], it's definitely worth it because the scent lingers around all day without fading. You can pick up a sample of whichever fragrance you like at the bond no 9 counter.
If you don't have a saks fifth avenue near you, the frangrances can be found on the bond no 9 website >here< or on the saks website >here<

stunt double

So while browsing the rain boots at nordstrom, something caught my eye. These boots that looks seemingly similar to the previously mentioned see by Chloe boots that I had wanted. I walked a little closer and noticed that they were by sperry (making more sense since nordstrom doesn't carry see by chloe. The same style, almost an exact dupe of the see by Chloe boots. With the exception of the lack of the side detail, the laces having stripes, and the added 1"-2" wedge. They cost $59 [on sale] and $79 normally. I'm about to buy them along with some leopard hunter liners. Here's a picture.

These boots can be found and bought on the nordstrom website >>>here<<<

And so the night brings a bright new day

The las vegas strip is lit up by countless amounts of lights and lit up signs promoting whatever show or restaurant the hotel is showcasing. The hour never seems too late to go out for a drink..or two. Of course I am underage and am not able to head out to the hotel's signature bar or club. However the restaurants here are nothing short of spectacular. Last night I went to "Julian Serrano" a casual Spanish 'tapas' type restaurant. The food was exquisite. Different variations of seafood, steaks, cold meats, cheeses, and much more made up our meal.

The experience was wonderful; tasting the many diverse and different dishes. Being able to indulge in so many flavors in one sitting without feeling guilty because of the small 'tapas' style dishes was unreal.

The restaurant is in the Aria hotel in city center, and I would most definitely recommend this to a friend.

urban therapy

While accompanying my mother on her routine target run, strolling though the aisles, I detoured to the make up section, and my eyes glanced through the many variations of mascaras, eyeliners, eyeshadows, foundations, and other things, and I noticed some brightly colored bottles under the Jemma Kidd makeup. The products were titled "twisted sista" by urban therapy. I'd never heard of the brand or the products. Intrigued, I picked up a bottle of 'curl activator, and read the bottle. Seeming to promise more lively curls and eliminate frizz, I decided i wanted to try it. I bought the curl activator as well as the 30 second curl spray.

The directions say both products can either be used on wet or dry hair, but I hopped I'm the shower and applied the curl activator creme around a half hour after I got out of shower while my hair was still damp. I saw no immediate effect as my hair was still wet. I applied the spray promptly after. My hair dried soft, and with rapunzel ringlet type curls, definitely enhancing my natural hair texture, which is extremely thick, dense, and frizzy.

I'm in love with this product and definitely recommend it for girls with medium to thick wavy or curly hair.

Products can be purchased at target or the urban therapy website

perfumes are the feelings of flowers

*inspiration*

the color combination and placement of the flowers is nothing short of stunning. I'm thinking of incorporating these colors into an outfit, using the fuchsia, orange, red, and the contrast of green.

what happens in vegas stays in vegas.

the thought about having to go through airport security tomorrow, and having to board a flight makes me a little bit frustrated, however, i will be boarding a flight to the one and only las vegas, nevada. the only city where walking around at 3am is nothing out of the normal. oh how i love las vegas. i will be staying there from tomorrow until the 2nd, and that means new years. new years has always been the cause of countless resolutions and goals in my journal, of which only 1/10 end up being completed. a fraction of mine this year consist of being more organized [which realistically, chances are it wont happen], wearing more thought out outfits [rather than picking out the first thing in my sight when im lazy], and the widely popular; eat more healthy and nutritious food. while most of my resolutions will not be completed, i am keen on completing one specific one, and that is dressing better. taking a couple extra minutes out of my day and thoroughly thinking outfits through shouldn't be too hard, right? lets hope not.

so maybe i will come back a changed woman from las vegas? probably not, but we'll find out on the 2nd.

regardless, i will report back with outfits of the day posts and hauls.

would you give in?

yes, im one of those polyvore people. i gave in a few months ago, and havent been able to stop myself! some might say maniac?..

anyway, heres some of my sets;

those who care dont matter and those who matter dont care.

ah yes, these words of wisdom. so true in every way imaginable. today, i went shopping with my best friend since age 2, danielle. we visited the "50% off sale" sale at urban outfitters, as well as h&m, and mac. danielle gozlan, this girl is amazing. growing up together, weve learned to love each other for everything including the faults in ourselves. we all have them, even if you dont think you have any faults, that is a fault in itself, so hah, mindfucked? possibly. anyway, she is the person i can be completely insane with, and you have no clue how insane i mean by insane, were talking 'the weirdest people youve ever met' status, and regardless, we love each other. thats the kind of person you should seek in life, someone who doesnt care what is wrong with you, but instead of rejecting you because of it, loves you for it.

anyway, back to the point. we went to the mall today, and earlier in the day i had spotted this on refinery 29:
i immediately set my goal to find a dupe of this simple, clean cut yet chic look. i achieved my goal with a little bit of a more girly flair with the following blouse from h&m:
i really loved the lace detail on the shoulder, it adds a touch of femininity to a blouse that is a bit more on the structured side. i think this top paired with my high rise levi shorts, black tights (for the winter), and some oxford shoes, and its a pretty good replica of the inspiration.

next, while browsing through the what seemed to be endless mountains of clothing in the sale section at urban outfitters, i came across this skirt, its pretty plain, but i thought it was kind of cute, and the amazing price of 9.99 might of added to my perception of the skirt..
the quality isnt great because the flash faded out the colors a bit.. but, hopefully this gives you a fairly good idea of what the skirt looks like.

as we always do, me and danielle decided to go to the MAC store.. may have been a bad idea, as i ended up indulging in buying a pigment box from their holiday collection, "a tartan tale".

the box they came in was so adorable, as the packaging usually is for their holiday collections, but i really liked it this year!

i had to get the pigments, because pigments generally take far too long to finish because theyre normal size is so big. the mini sizes were perfect, not too much, not too little. also, the box came with a MAC Glitter, generally only sold in MAC Pro shops, not available to the general public. Both these reasons put together made me have to have one of these boxes. and for 35$, why not? the colors are great, and the price is great, as pigments are generally fairly expensive on their own.

so, that is my haul for the day. i hope you enjoy! x

i want to live where it always rains.

so, its been raining quite a bit over here in los angeles, and of course when it rains, i take advantage and pull out all the winter clothes that have been hiding in the back of my closet. mmm, coats, thick chunky cardigans, over-sized scarves... theres only one staple missing in my closet; rain boots. ive been searching for the perfect pair. ive been extremely close to caving into buying the traditional hunter boots, but have resisted and set my mind into looking for something more original. i have my eye set on a specific pair by See by Chloe from Bloomingdales. Theyre $215 which is indeed a little on the splurge side...but who said you cant buy love? They can be found >>>here<<<<

whatever you are, be a good one.

i sat there, on the floor of my mother's bathroom, admiring my mother comb her lashes with her lancome mascara. it was riveting watching her transform herself within a couple of minutes, her eyes would look so beautiful. it intrigued me, and soon enough, she left the room. i raced over to her makeup cabinet and made my first attempt at putting on makeup. i ended up with black dots scattered on my eyelid, misplaced eyeshadow, and sloppily placed lipstick. i scrubbed it off with water as soon as i realized my mother would be coming back upstairs soon, but after that day, i would constantly sneak in to my mothers make up drawer and teach myself how to apply and use the different mysterious and extravagant products she hid. This was 9 years ago. I am now 15 and love makeup. I spend my spare time either watching beauty gurus on youtube or figuring out new looks at my vanity in my room. Other interests of mine are also fashion as well as technology. Some friends call me a beauty obsessed freak, and some a tech geek, but i am okay with it because i am both! Im starting this blog simply to share my obsession with everything! And although im sure i will get some not so nice comments at school, i dont care :]

thats something i love about myself, i dont care what people think. i used to, but i had an epiphany recently. what does it matter if other people think im weird, if i am weird. be yourself! be a tech geek if you are one. be CRAZY if you feel like it. be you! as cheesy as this is, its so true: follow your heart! and whatever you are, be a good one.
